Staff Mtg 8/15/08

well guys....I believe Pastor started to get a little nervous or something at our staff mtg yesterday cause he went Grand Ole Opry on us!!!!!! Just thought I'd share!!

It is That Simple

I was listening to a song this morning by Hillsong..."All I Need is You." As I listened to this song I began to focus on those 5 words "All I Need is You." What rest we can find in understanding this one statement...All we need is Him, and all He wants is us - it is that simple. There is a clear difference between "need" and "want," and just like this song says, we NEED Him! IF people ever really grasp that we NEED Him, THEN you'll not be able to help but WANT Him.

3 steps

I was reading this morning in Matthew, but specifically Matthew 6:33, which everyone has read 100 times @ least, but this morning it really sunk to me. Let me share w/ you what I encountered. I believe that Matthew 6:33 is the way all Christians are supposed to live. It is a 3-step process. The Old Testament, if you read, is full of scripture w/ "if" and "then". IF you do this, THEN this will happen. I love how the Old Testament is so right to the point. I believe this is the case for Matthew 6:33 as well

Matthew 6:33 - NLT version "seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need."

Step 1: "Seek the Kingdom of God above all else"
* We are to seek God more than anything else we do 1st and foremost before we do anything else

Step 2: "Live Righteously"
* this is where it can get confusing, at least for me I asked myself "what in the world does righteous really mean?
* Righteous - genuine, excellent, good, upright, just, sound, worthy, guiltless, moral
* We as Christians are supposed to live this way, righteously

IF we as Christians truly live out Steps 1 & 2, THEN step 3 is a promise from God

Step 3: "and He WILL give you everything you need!!"
